"Hi Grandma"
A little girl yelled
As she walked into the house
Freshly baked Cinnamon rolls she smelled.
She went and gave her a hug
Then a little kiss on the cheek
Going into the kitchen
And into the cookie jar she did peek.
The little girls eyes lit up
As she saw what she did see
Freshly baked Cinnamon rolls
She wanted two, Or three.
"Gram may I have one please."
She looked at her with pleading eyes
"Only one" her Grandma said
With a big smile and sigh
The little girl reached in the jar
And pulled out the delicious treat
She sat down at the table
Next to her Grandma she did eat.
As the years passed on
And the little girl grew
She turned into a young lady
Not the little girl they all once knew.
Once again she came through the door
With a big grin on her face
"Hi Gram" she said with a loving hug
She loved to visit that place.
The person she once looked up to
When she was just a little child
Now she looks down on her
She must have grown like wild
Now she looks at her pale face
As she sleeps peacfully on her bed
She holds her grams cold hand
And kisses her forhead.
She walks out of the room
With a tear in her eye
The one thing she's always hated
Was when she had to say good-bye.
