The Storm Of Hate

Thunder and lightning,
Crashing down,
The pitter patter of the rain,
Slaps the ground.

I reach out my hand,
Felling the cold wetness,
As it drips through my fingers,
And drowns out my happiness.

Soaking my body completely,
To the bone.
Standing there empty,
All alone.

I hear a rumble.
See the flashing lights.
Hears the bloody screams.
Sees the awful sights.

I turn around,
And close my eyes,
I don't want to see anymore,
So I hide the truth with lies.

But the pictures keep playing,
Over in my head,
All the screaming and pain,
All the people dead.

The storm stops.
But not for long,
The silence in the middle,
Before it continues on.

The memories start to fade,
And disappear.
It's all replaced with calmness,
And drives away the fear.

The clouds start to roll away,
And you can see the sun.
It seems like it's clearing up
But the storm, has just begun.
