I slip into my world
With a simple little sigh
Relaxing in my chair
With my legs stretched up high
I cross my arms and shiver
As I slowly start to cry
My eyes become red and blurry
And I start to become high
High on my tears and furry
Higher than all the stars of the sky
I look down into my world
Watching as we live and die
A ring of sad and sorrow surrounds us
I am left to wonder why
Why do we stay standing tall
When we fall no matter how hard we try
I see the brave and the feared people
Mixed with the empty and shy
I wonder where I fit in in this mess
My eyes wandering as I fly
I start to descend escaping my shelter
And I sink into my chair from the sky
Images, hopes, and dreams
Dance before my inner eye
They start to shimmer and to fade
As I turn around and wave bye
I slip out of my little world
Choking on tears as I cry.
